According to owner Vicki Schweiss, there are 6 steps to Wellness. Wellness is when you feel at your best physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The 6 steps to wellness are: food choices, supplement choices, exercise, de-stressing techniques, sleep and Jesus! If any of these areas of life need to be restructured, we find our wellness decreased, our stress levels increased, our health becomes worse, and we do not feel our best. We work to get back to status quo where we wake up daily refreshed, focused, ready to tackle the world and conquer any mountain that stands in our way.
Deep in the Heart is a wellness studio that deals with different aspects of your wellness. We offer educational classes, massage therapy, nutritional consultations, but the main things we do, is group fitness mobility classes. Stretching our bodies unites the mind, body, and spirit in a way that eases tension, reduces inflammation, and promotes health and well-being. Regular practice will help you reach, improve, and perfect postures; correct postural weakness and muscular structure; and improve your breathing and outlook on life. Gentle exercise should be for every type of body and our studio focuses on inclusion of every single BODY, from all walks of life, at all parts of their journey, and fitness levels.

While we offer many services at Deep in the Heart, our main focus is group fitness exercise classes that focus on all aspects of your body including, flexibility, mobility, motility, increased strength, stability and relaxation. We offer a variety of levels to these classes that suits ALL BODIES. We serve a variety of people, but most walk in with a goal in mind to feel better physically and/or emotionally.
We focus on learning different breathing techniques, while stretching, and while relaxing. The breath is what gives us life. Breath also gives the blood oxygen and turns off the fight of flight response, puts our body in the state of rest and digest and allows us to stretch further, holding postures longer, allowing the practice to help you feel your absolute best.
We focus on self-care and learning more de-stressing techniques, life is overwhelming, and we all have busy hectic lives, so it's of the upmost importance to take time to take care of yourself, because you can't help others when you are not at your best. 1 hour, two or three times a week of self-care is necessary to feel your best.
These classes at Deep in the Heart, Wellness offer you a chance to take an hour off from the real world and connect with the spirit through movement and breathing. Some of us use this time to connect with God/Jesus, to praise, to pray, to breath, to be present in the moment, to grow in all ways.

At Deep in the Heart, we set weekly studio intentions to bring mindfulness to areas of our life that help us mentally, spiritually and emotionally. These intentions serve as a focus for us to be open to considering where we need to grow in life, outside of out body.
Focusing on your breath during practice is key to staying in tune physically. The overall goal to strive toward and grow into is being more mindful in life, feeling amazing every day, connecting with a community of like-minded people, connecting with God and working toward goals that you personalize for yourself.
We work on the whole body, and our goal is to become more mindful of our overall wellness. We can't pour from empty cups. This is how we fill our cup.
